WELCOME
Offering individual virtual therapy sessions to teens, adults, and older adults across Ontario

I imagine that if you find yourself here, it is because you need a change and want support in doing so.
Life is full of challenges, and what feels stressful varies from person to person. We often juggle work, family, and relationships, losing sight of ourselves when life gets busy.
No matter what challenges you are facing, no matter how difficult things may be, please know that you do not have to go through it alone. I offer a space to pause, share your story, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
Therapy is not about being told what to do but about exploring your concerns, discovering inner strengths, learning new skills, and celebrating successes, all with the support of someone who listens without judgment.
I believe that you have the capacity to grow, heal, and thrive.

A Little About Me...
Hello!
My name is Kia. I’m glad you found me.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). However, I am also a daughter, sister, aunt, friend to the special people in my life, and have a very old cat named Jaguar.
Having been raised by two registered psychotherapists, I guess you could say that helping people is a natural calling. From a young age, I was instilled with the skills of empathy, compassion, active listening, curiosity, and emotional intelligence, that aid me in my work as a therapist.
I come from a unique cultural background being Estonian, German, Métis, and French Acadian from the East Coast. This heritage has shaped my worldview and fostered an appreciation for diversity and inclusivity, which also informs my clinical practice.

My Approach
Head
Mind
Heart
Emotions
Hands
Physical Body
My head, heart, and hands therapeutic approach is a distinct and integrated process. It explores one’s thoughts (head), emotions (heart), and physical body (hands), allowing for holistic understanding and healing of oneself.
This approach is tailored to each client. Together, we will determine how much or how little we explore these three areas. So, whether you are looking to change negative thought patterns, process and connect with emotions, and/or explore body awareness, my head, heart, and hands approach offers a comprehensive path forward.
I believe that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client is foundational to healing. Once a safe, respectful, and trusting relationship is formed, healing, involving the head, heart, and hands is possible.
When searching for therapists online, there is often a lot of talk about modalities (i.e., cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, internal family systems, etc.), which can be informative or feel confusing, depending on the person.
I Find This Confusing and Overwhelming:
If you are someone who does not appreciate talk of modalities, then what I want you to know is that my therapeutic style is one of genuine empathy, curiosity, compassion, and collaboration.
I intend to create a safe and inclusive space where you feel heard, accepted, and validated.
You will find me to be honest, authentic, non-judgmental, and, at times, direct.
I will encourage you to recognize your power, strengths, and resilience.
I Find This Informative:
If you are someone who does appreciate talk of modalities, then in addition to what was said to the left, I want you to know that I have an integrated therapeutic approach incorporating principles of person-centered, cognitive behavioural, mindfulness, self-compassion, somatic, trauma-informed, and strength-based modalities.
I also draw from solution-focused, internal family systems, narrative, emotion freedom techniques, and Gestalt therapies, among others, depending on what best suits my clients.
“The therapeutic relationship a counsellor forms with each client can be the most powerful tool for helping clients change.”
~Jeff Cochran and Nancy Cochran
Services
Individual Therapy:
I provide individual therapy sessions.
Individual therapy offers a supportive, one-on-one space to navigate personal challenges. In a safe and confidential setting, you will have an opportunity to openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in the presence and with the support of a compassionate and curious therapist.
Together, we will work toward deepening self-understanding, improving emotional well-being, and building effective coping skills to help you thrive.
Populations:
I support teens, adults, and elders virtually (i.e., phone or video sessions) across Ontario.
Concerns
Please Note:
-
I believe that meaningful therapy is rooted in genuine human connection. As such, I wanted to share that I have personal experience with some of the concerns I support clients through, such as anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, relationship challenges, and grief. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of how overwhelming and isolating these struggles can be. I am open about these experiences in the hope that doing so offers you a sense of not being alone and reminds you that healing is possible. While everyone's journey is unique, you don’t have to navigate it by yourself—I’m here to support you with empathy, compassion, and care.
